    Pretending

Do you ever feel like things are not okay, Everything is a mess in your head, You just want to try and get away, All you get is a heartache instead.

Running from the misery and pain, There is nothing left to gain, It just hurts more and more, As the days go by you just bore, You feel as if the world is closing all the doors.

You promise yourself that this time is different, But it all feels the same, It’s the same tango with a jazzy current.

This one will last forever, Who are you kidding you know it means nothing, It’s the same old tune you sing, Your smiles decrease till it’s never.

Why do you get left alone, You have many contacts but a silent phone, Sorry the call has disconnected, No one even bothers leaving a message after the tone.

You aren’t surprised at all, In fact it was expected to happen, You always seem to fall, Relaxation seems far away, You don’t know the meaning of zen.

Trying harder and harder, But your mess gets bigger and bigger, Everything seems tougher and tougher.

All you can do is hope, You feel like a lost cause, Your hands are binder by a coarse rope, You wish to put your life on pause, The remote is missing, You are confused to rewind or forward, To erase the past or leap to the future, It keeps you guessing…

I’m so confused. I give up. There is nothin left to choose.

Help OCC with Hands Across California Donate today!

    www.handsacrosscalifornia.org

Hands Across California will directly benefit the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment, a fund created to provide annual scholarship support to thousands of students in need from every one of California’s 112 community colleges, every year, forever.

Ongoing reductions in state funding have put our public systems of higher education in crisis. California’s Community Colleges, which educate nearly 3 million students each year and are the largest provider of workforce training in the state and nation, continue to struggle with this divestment in education.

The three million California community college students are facing their own crisis of affordability. Already 90 percent of full-time students are in need of financial aid, and almost half have no resources to pay for college. As the state continues to grapple with tough budget decisions, the cost of an education continues to climb for populations that can least afford it.

Hands Across California will give people of all backgrounds a chance to stand up in support of California’s Community College students, a truly worthy cause.

The timing for Hands Across California is crucial and participation is key, as the event will raise funds to support scholarships for those students who are struggling to pay for the cost of an education. These are scholarships that will support generations upon generations of students, and that cannot be reduced or eliminated by the state legislature.

    I’m Sorry-

“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”

Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

    Dear friend,

I am sorry I haven’t been that friend. I know that posting this on my blog is weak.  I wish I could confront you right now and let you know how I feel. I wish I didn’t feel like this. I wish it never came to this point where things that were left unsaid led to more things be said…actions speak louder than words, and I know that my previous actions have not been what I wish them to be. Often times we allow ourselves to be caught up in things that are not as important as those we love and care about. I learned this the hard way. I finally got that one thing I was aiming, hoping, and working for, and I realized no ounce of happiness was given. I am not happy for multiple of reasons, but one is simple. I hurt someone who I love so much along the way. Nothing can outweigh  someone so dear and special to me feeling upset, especially if it was caused by my own two hands. I know this is not a sufficient apology letter, but I hope that in the days to come you find a way to forgive me and allow me once more back in your life. I know I must work hard to prove myself worthy of such, but I promise I won’t let you down again. Please find it in your heart to let me back in. Please take the risk of letting me once back in your life. I promise again and again, I won’t let you down. You have no idea how much you mean to me and how important you are. You take too much of my heart and I know that lately it hasn’t seemed so. I promise to make it up to best of my abilities.

    Love you,

    Miss you,

    Thinking of you,

    -Friend
